Magic Happening in the Community

Our passion to serve our communities is slowly creating a ripple effect which is impacting lives and fostering change. It is heart – warming to see that more and more of our parents living in Hadji Ebrahim Crescent and Flamingo Heights, who have grown in confidence alongside their children, are finding employment with the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). They clock into work 5 days a week and each of them now has a personal bank account. Receiving a monthly salary has boosted their self-confidence and is noticeable in their demeanour, and interactions with COLT staff. We are so proud of them and value their commitment to the Educare and their children’s education.

We are also very excited to have two interns from the Chrysalis Academy working a few hours a week at the Educare. Siyasanga who graduated in 2019 and is now studying at the Centre for Creative Education, and Inako who recently graduated. This week they were a great help in the kitchen preparing the picnic for the Educare outing to Newlands Forest.
