Curriculum
COLT Educare is a place where the child feels secure and play is a sanctuary of safety. It’s an environment where the teacher makes every effort to maintain a predictable routine with the least amount of disturbances.
The rhythm and routine of the daily program allows the children to become independent and able to complete tasks in an organised and disciplined way without imposing authority and demands on them. COLT has two classes and a total of 20 children.
Daisy class is the 3-4 year old group, where the focus is learning through imitation and sensory experience. As this is the first time away from home a gentle, playful approach is used to help them adjust. The curriculum is simple and focuses on helping the child feel secure, learn to be part of a group, and develop imaginative play through imitation.
Sunflower class is the 4-5 year old group, where the focus is learning through imitation in a beautiful, nature-based environment that encourages creativity and imagination. Through free play, art activities, and a gentle rhythm, children develop literacy, numeracy, and life skills, preparing them socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally for Grade R.
