Healthy Meals

Lunches at Colt are cooked and prepared by the teachers, each one cooking on a particular day. Many of our children are malnourished and the meals that they receive at the Educare need to be nutrient dense and nourishing. Today we added coriander and spinach leaves from the Colt vegetable garden to the pot.

Our children are growing and developing bones, muscles, teeth and blood and the early years are ideal for providing nutrition information and promoting positive attitudes about food. Colt children are acquiring knowledge in leaps and bounds as their world expands and their social contacts increase. They see their teachers prepare the Educare meals with care and attention and quickly learn that the best way to enjoy these meals is to be quiet and relaxed at the table while they eat.
