There is no better way to celebrate a birthday than by bringing everyone together through prayer. Our birthday celebrations at COLT were made particularly special by a beautiful Yajna performed by Swami Vidyananda. Throughout the prayer, our children sat so patiently, listened so attentively and followed instructions beautifully. Once the prayers had come to an end, they got to blow out the birthday candles, accompanied by heartfelt wishes and prayers for many more wonderful years of COLT. It was a truly heartwarming celebration, and a special way to mark another year together.
And the celebrations didn’t end there! Last Friday, we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and headed out to Green Point Park for a morning of outdoor fun. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring, playing in the stream and spending time with one another. It was a lovely day filled with moments that make lasting memories.
As we look back on these special moments, we are also reminded of just how quickly the year is passing. With our Christmas party and graduation fast approaching, there is a mixture of excitement and emotion in the air. While saying goodbye to our little graduates is never easy, hearing about the wonderful progress of our past pupils makes those farewells a little easier.
It is always such a joy to hear how our former children are settling into their new schools and thriving. Recently, we received lovely feedback about one of our past pupils who is excelling in Mathematics and doing exceptionally well at listening carefully and following instructions. Hearing stories like these is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. Knowing that the foundations built during their time at COLT are helping them flourish in their next chapter makes us incredibly proud and reassures us that our current graduates are ready to spread their wings too.
Our Annual Santa Shoebox Drive
As we prepare for the festive season, we are once again getting ready for one of the most meaningful parts of our year: our annual Santa Shoebox Drive!
In the spirit of giving, we are hoping to collect 36 beautifully packed Santa Shoeboxes for the children currently attending COLT, as well as our graduating pupils. These boxes will be presented at our Christmas party on 4 December 2026, and each one will bring a little extra magic and excitement to a child’s Christmas.
Each shoebox should include the following:
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Soap
- Washcloth
- An outfit of clothing (please refer to the child’s age and gender)
- Educational supplies
- Sweets
- A toy
- A decorated shoebox with the child’s name clearly written on it
Whether you are able to donate one shoebox or several, every contribution is deeply appreciated. Your generosity helps us create special memories for our children and reminds them just how loved and valued they are.
