Fun Walk

The annual COLT Fun Walk fundraiser took place on Sunday at Rondebosch Common. There was great excitement in the morning when the cars arrived to fetch the children and their parents from the three informal settlements. Seen in the group above are Lameck, Jeremy, Kareem and Jaylene waiting with younger siblings at the Hadji Ebrahim settlement, which 2 weeks ago experienced a fire in the community.

A magic moment for us was when Lameck’s dad shared that he had told Lameck that one day he should become a truck driver. Lameck replied, “no daddy I want to be a pilot and fly an aeroplane”.
