Sunrise plates, smiles and hope served at COLT’S Brunch Fundraiser

On the 30th of August, Children of Light Educare hosted a successful fundraising brunch, weaving together threads of community, compassion and culinary delight in support of our vital work. The event warmly welcomed current and mew donors, offering a compelling glimpse into the potential and tireless efforts shaping young lives at the educare. Guests savored a delectable meal expertly crafted by Chef Hitesh Panchal, the visionary owner of Kapoochka, whose culinary artistry set the tone for the morning of heartfelt connections. The guest speaker was the esteemed Glenda Jones, founder of Afrika Ablaze alongside Jason Stoffberg followed by a captivating contemporary performance by led by Danielle Jones, Quisha Dawood and Lauren Jacobs dancer of Afrika Ablaze bringing to life the poignant poem written by Glenda Jones “Oxygen” A moving testament to the breath of hope Children of Light breathes into the lives it touches.

The highlight of the event unfolded with a gratifying auction, skillfully led by Vishaan Makan, featuring an array of exciting prizes generously by a community that rallied remarkable support. The auction surpassed expectations, raising a noteworthy sum that crowned the fundraising triumph.

Every rand raised will directly empower Children of Light Educare to:

  • Daily nourishment: Provide 3 wholesome meals a day ensuring children thrive.
  • Enrich minds: Fuel dedicated education programs led by passionate teachers.
  • Spark joy: Gift children unforgettable first-time experiences and outings that broaden their horizons.

The brunch fundraiser stands as a testament to what collective generosity can achieve – underscoring the profound impact of the community partnership in nurturing the dreams of Children of Light Educare’s beneficiaries.
